Chocolate Peppermint Protein Shake

This is one of my favorite  smoothies to make when I am craving a dessert and need some protein. (great for after a workout)

1/2 or 1 full banana (even better if its frozen)
about a teaspoon of raw organic cacao powder (NOT chocolate)
dash of organic peppermint extract
about a cup of unsweetened almond milk (or non dairy milk sub)
1 scoop chocolate vegan protein powder (i use my Vega Sports Performance protein but any plant protein will work)
Ice and blend

(handful of spinach or kale optional)
